In Pursuit of the Perfect Pillow
Besides feeling cozy and supportive, what does a good pillow provide?
The magic of sleeping on the perfect pillow is proper spinal alignment for an amazing night’s sleep.
Proven by science (and some sleepless nights with the wrong pillow) a pillow can make or break your body’s ability to get the best rest it needs. Finding the right pillow is just as important as selecting the proper mattress—based on your size, sleeping position, and preferred materials.
At Custom Comfort Mattress, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all for mattresses or pillows. We believe you need a mattress that conforms to your body, supports you properly, and provides the right comfort, so you get your best sleep. And your pillow is just as important. The ideal pillow properly and comfortably supports your head and neck for ideal spinal alignment.
We are all unique individuals with different body types, shapes, and sizes. We even have preferred sleeping positions. Some people enjoy sleeping on their side. Some on their backs. There are stomach sleepers and combination sleepers that tend to toss, turn and move around during the night.
So, how do you know what the best pillow option is for you?
We offer several pillow options to keep you aligned, comfortable, and well-rested. By answering a few key questions about sleep position, size, and shape of your body, natural or synthetic material preference, etc., you will be on your way to a restful and supportive night’s sleep. Our resident sleep experts can help you quickly identify your ideal fit.
Molded Natural Latex Pillow
One of our guests’ favorite pillows that we make in our local factory is the molded natural latex with an organic cotton cover. It provides excellent contouring, conforms well to the neck and back, and is ideal for both side and back sleepers.
Latex is a natural material that comes from the sap of the rubber tree. This eco-friendly, breathable material has a unique cell structure allowing for greater airflow, so your head stays cool and comfortable throughout the night.
It contains no harsh dyes or chemicals and is naturally mold, mildew, and dust mite resistant. Natural latex is inherently hypoallergenic, antibacterial, and antifungal, making it ideal for people with allergies and asthma.
These pillows can be scrunched up, and they bounce back into shape with ease. Its durable material can last up to 10 years.
Shredded Natural Latex Pillow
This pillow is made out of the natural latex material, but instead of one molded piece, the latex is shredded and encased into a sewn cover. It feels and responds a lot like a down-filled or fiber pillow, making it easy to manipulate and scrunch. And because it’s latex, it does an excellent job at supporting the head and neck, providing the comfort and spinal alignment needed for your neck and back.
Down Pillow
For some, an all-natural, organic cotton-covered, down-filled pillow is a traditional favorite. We source these pillows from a trusted partner that makes them triple-layered with a firmer layer of down in the middle and softer layers of finer goose down on the outside. These pillows give you the ability to manipulate, smush, and get them into the perfect shape for you.
Synthetic Pillow
If you like the feeling and shape of down, but prefer a synthetic fiber, we have you covered with this option as well, providing good support, comfort, and contouring.
So, in your pursuit of finding the perfect pillow, look for one that will keep you cool, provide proper spinal alignment and support, and fill in the gap between your head and mattress. If you’re a side sleeper or have broad shoulders, that gap might be a little bit larger. If you sleep on your back, the gap will be a little less.
No matter what, once you have the right support and a good sleep posture, your nights will be filled with restful sleep, awakening to energized mornings.
